Dear Valued Customer,

As part of your transition to Amigo.Net, we have moved all Chaffee.Net e-mail accounts to our mail server. Until now, they have remained on Apollo/Vanion's server.
This means that you will now be able to take advantage of our spam and virus filtering services. We will also be better able to fully support your mail account as it will now be on our system. As you will notice if you use the web-based e-mail interface at webmail.chaffee.net, our interface now appears at that address.
Mail that was stored on the Chaffee.Net mail server before we moved the e-mail accounts to our server was not moved to our server. However, it is still accessible at "old-webmail.chaffee.net".
Point your browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc) here:

old-webmail.chaffee.net

Log in there with your full e-mail address and password. If you want to download whatever mail is there to the e-mail software on your computer, you will need to temporarily change your incoming mail server to "old-webmail.chaffee.net". Once you have finished downloading that mail, change the incoming server to mail.amigo.net. Instructions will follow on how to change account settings. If you want to check your old mail, replace the instructions items that say "mail.amigo.net" with "old-webmail.chaffee.net" and then repeat the instructions using "mail.amigo.net" after you have finished downloading your old mail.
If you are having any trouble accessing your new mail, there are a few things that you should check. First, in your mail software, make certain that the e-mail address has an "@" instead of a "%" and that any account name or username field in your mail software has the full e-mail address rather than just the username. Also, change your incoming and outgoing mail server names to this:

mail.amigo.net

Use the following instructions to check/modify the settings in the mail software that you use (note that methods vary slightly for different versions of the software):

OUTLOOK EXPRESS
To change the settings in Outlook Express, open Outlook Express and click on the "tools" menu at the top. Then click "accounts." Click the tab at the top that says "mail." Select the appropriate mail account by clicking on it. Then click "properties." Check the e-mail address field to make sure that it has the full and correct e-mail address and has an "@" rather than a "%". Click "apply." Click the tab at the top that says "servers." Change the incoming and outgoing server names to "mail.amigo.net". Change your account name to include the full e-mail address. Then click "apply" and "ok." Then click "close." Now, perform a send/receive to download the mail to your local folders.

NETSCAPE (new)
To change the settings in new versions of Netscape, open Netscape and click the menu at the top that says "window." Then click "mail and newsgroups." Then click the "edit" menu and select "mail and newsgroups account settings." On the left side, you should see a column with your e-mail address listed there. Click on your e-mail account in that column on the left. Then, on the right, make sure that the account name shows you full e-mail address with an "@" instead of a "%." Do the same for the e-mail address field. Next, click the item on the left that says "server settings." Make sure that the username field includes your entire address. Also change the mail server name there to "mail.amigo.net". Click the item on the left that says "Outgoing Server (SMTP)." Change the server name there to "mail.amigo.net" and make sure that "use name and password" is unchecked. Then click "ok" at the bottom.

NETSCAPE (old)
To change the settings in old versions of Netscape, open Netscape and click the menu at the top that says "edit." Then click "preferences." On the left side, you should see a column with several options available. Click the "+" to the left of the item that says "mail and newsgroups," unless a "-" already appears there. Then click the item below "mail and newsgroups" that says "identity." Then, on the right, make sure that the e-mail address field shows your full e-mail address with an "@" instead of a "%." Then click the item on the left that says "mail servers." On the right, change the incoming server name to "mail.amigo.net" using the "edit" option. Also, make sure that the outgoing server below also says "mail.amigo.net". Then click "ok" at the bottom. If you still have trouble, you may need to upgrade to a newer version of Netscape. You can download it here:
http://channels.netscape.com/ns/browsers/download.jsp
Configure this by going through the wizard and using "mail.amigo.net" for the server names.

EUDORA
Click the menu at the top that says "tools" and click "options." A window will appear with a column of icons on the left. Select the "getting started" icon. On the right, make sure the e-mail address field has your entire address and has an "@" rather than a "%." Change the incoming server name to "mail.amigo.net". Change the "login name" to include your entire address. Change your SMTP outgoing server to "mail.amigo.net." Click the icon on the left that says "checking mail." On the right, change the mail server to "mail.amigo.net" and the "login name" to your full address. Click the icon on the left that says "sending mail" and make sure the return address has your entire address with an "@" and not a "%". Also, make sure that the SMTP server says "mail.amigo.net." Then click "ok" at the bottom.

For other mail software, consult your documentation (try the help menu) to find instructions for changing account settings. Change all e-mail address, account name, and username fields to include your entire e-mail address with an "@" instead of a "%". Make incoming and outgoing mail servers "mail.amigo.net".
